I posted some photos from the first Double Trouble & MC Candlepants show back in April on my flickr account. They're pretty hott & sweaty.

Lately I've been obsessed with reading about the food service industry, more specifically, the lives of waiters and waitresses. I work at a restaurant, and though I am not a waitress, I know firsthand how hard it is to deal with the general public on a day to day basis (trust me, it's not easy). If you've got some time to spare, check out the Waiter Rant blog (be sure to check out the archives first). This is especially important if you've never worked in the food service industry before and don't understand the concept of tipping, or generally not behaving like an ass in public.
On a related note, my current read is Waiting by Debra Ginsberg, the true confessions of a life waiting tables. Should be an interesting read.

According to the ultimate decider to hipness, The Princeton Review, KU's college radio station KJHK 90.7 doesn't even register on the top 20 list of the best college radio stations. While I'll admit that KJHK's glory days may be over, I would still think it was one of the best stations in the country. Apparently they are basing the list on those stations that are "the most popular and well-liked" with students on campus, and as we all know, a good portion of KU's students have never even heard of KJ, let alone most of the music played on it. If KJ played The Ying Yang Twins and Rihanna, however, they would be all over that shit.
--In other Lawrence related news, Pitchfork gave the new Fourth Of July album a 7.0 rating. Not too shabby.
