Stampede: 1967 [bootleg]

Stampede was to be Springfield's second album....I mean geez, they even went as far as to take a photo for the cover, though it was never finished for some reason. However, the Stampede myth inspired many bootlegs featuring previously unreleased Springfield songs, and rare outtakes. Some of the songs on the Stampede bootleg include ""Neighbor, Don't You Worry," "We'll See," "My Kind of Love," and "Baby Don't Scold Me" (which was left off the second pressing of their first album). The bootleg also features different versions of "Down to the Wire" and "Do I Have to Come Right out and Say It." Notice that in the cover photo, "Bruce" sits with a cowboy hat with his head down....it wasn't really Bruce, cos he was in Canada at the time. Maybe they didn't finish the record cos Brucie wasn't there? Hmm.

Buffalo Springfield Again was their swansong, and remains one of MY favorite albums of all time. During this time period, Young had abandoned the band, and his songs were mainly done alone without the other band members. Also, part of this album was made without Bruce, who was deported back to Canada on some pesky drug charges.
